Tell Me Something Good August 20, 2008
I had amazing news on Sunday! My dog was found and is safe and sound at home. My mom has reported that she lost a bit of weight and other than that, she is fine. But she was smelly.
Some excitement… I will be home a week today for my visit! I’m very excited to see George and hang out, watch some football, chill a the cottage and cause some havoc! It’ll be nice to have some different clothes aside from the ones I’ve been wearing the past four months. Maybe I’ll even get a haircut.
I’ve spent the past two nights at Sean’s. Nothing shady, just two people cuddling. It’s actually really nice. Especially since I’m leaving.
I’m almost finished all my courses as well. I should be done my AI tomorrow or Friday and my Gas Blender by Sunday. Go me!
Now all I have to do is book my flight. And we all know how I do that.
No News Is Not Good News August 16, 2008
Still no word on whether or not my dog has been found. I talked to my mom yesterday and she said she was going to the shelter to see if someone had dropped her off.
I leave the island in less than ten days and have no plane ticket. I’m going to have to suck it up all call my dad or ask George to spot me the cash until I arrive home. Always a fun task.
I’m working on three courses right now, my Wreck Specialty, my Gas Blender Specialty and my Assistant Instructor. The latter has me in class from 8:30-4:30 everyday for the next four days. I already spent all day today in class learning about microteaching and prescriptive teaching. Yay! So far, it’s pretty cool and we should be jumping in the water the day after tomorrow to ensure that my ear doesn’t get and isn’t infected. Right now, there’s just a bit of fluid in there but it could get worse.
I’ve been sick since Wednesday. I spent most of Wednesday throwing my guts up and the past few days with a wicked head cold which has left me unable to drink.
Off to study!

I love getting emails about stuff like that. Really, I do. Don’t worry Dad. It’s definitely something I wanted to know about while I’m thousands of miles away unable to do anything to even try and make myself feel better about the situation. Cause I can’t exactly go looking for her while I’m down here, can I?

Today is SunJam, a 24 hour rave on one of the cayes. With over 2,500 people expected to show up, it should be quite the party. DJ’s from around the world will be playing their tunes to a couple thousand drunk, coked out, sketched out individuals who want what may be nothing more than an excuse to hook up with as many random people as possible.
Hence the creation of UnJam. A party for those of us not into drugs, random hook ups and being stuck on a tiny caye with 2,500 other people, no bathrooms, no shade, no room to move around. So we are partying at my place with a BBQ, some drinks and some tunes before heading off to the unpopulated bar and having blast!
