And… scene May 4, 2008
The sky was painted delicious hues of pink, purple, orange and blue. Magenta clouds streaked the sky as the dark outline of the mountains engulfed the foreground of this live postcard. I lay in his arms gazing upon this wonderous sunrise. We had spent most of the evening this way, chatting, napping, laughing. He stoked my hair, rubbed my back, kept me warm. All during a twelve hour bus ride to my next destination.
Alright, I had a moment of creativity and decided to use it here. It really did happen though. This Spanish guy was waiting at the bus station, we started talking, he let me use him as a pillow for about twelve hours. Nothing romantic. Just two backpackers trying to get comfortable for a long ass trip. I got to learn some spanish, he got to learn english. All is good.
I’ve left the beach. I am cold. It’s raining. I am not a happy camper. But I should be back to my beaches by the end of the week. So yay for that! I’m trying to keep things cheap at the moment and being off the beach does help. There is just something so natural about sipping on pina coladas or a 12 pack when living the beach life.
